The 5G spectrum mega auction in India is finally over, and the government is now approving and giving the spectrum to the telecom networks that bid. Airtel has already said it will start setting up India’s 5G network this month, in August. People think Reliance could show off its 5G network on August 15. Even though these rumours are true, sources in the government told The Hindu BusinessLine that PM Narendra Modi is likely to launch the 5G network on September 29, 2022, at the beginning of the India Mobile Congress (IMC). This is in line with what telecom minister Ashwini Vaishnav said would happen in October. Before, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was supposed to launch the 5G network on August 15 at the Red Fort on India’s 75th Independence Day.
India will start up a 5G network.
A report from The Hindu BusinessLine says that PM Narendra Modi will launch the 5G network on September 29 at the start of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022. The telecom networks in India have put a value of 1.5 lakh crores on the spectrum auction for 5G.
Jio, Airtel, and Vi are not the only ones participating in the auction this time. Adani Data Network has also joined for the first time. Ashwini Vaishnav, the telecom minister, has confirmed that 5G services will be available in the first phase by October and likely all over the country in a year or two.

Airtel said last week that it will start rolling out its 5G network this month and will work with Samsung, Nokia, and Ericsson to do so.
Telcos have, for the most part, stuck to these schedules. In a press release earlier this week, Bharti Airtel said it had made a new deal with Samsung and extended deals with Nokia and Ericsson for 5G radio access networks in the country. During the announcement, a representative from Airtel said that the company would start putting 5G services in place in India this month.
The prices for 5G services in India would be comparable to 4G plans and low compared to the rest of the world. The telecom minister said that 4G services would cost more than Rs 2,000 per month worldwide but that plans in India start for well under Rs 200. We can expect the prices of 5G packs to be low at first so that people will buy them quickly and then gradually go up. In the first phase, cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and others would be able to use 5G services.
