German automaker Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its electric SUV, the EQE. It is rumored to have a range of approximately 600 kilometers and excellent performance capabilities. Mercedes has been on a product assault to overtake Tesla’s position as the global leader in the electric vehicle (EV) market. The EQE sedan will be released in India in 2019, and the EQE SUV may be released in the coming years.
Mercedes EQE is the SUV version of the EQE sedan, the electric version of the highly successful E-Class sedan. The EQE sedan and SUV will likely play a significant role in the automaker’s plan to become an industry leader in EV mobility. The EQE SUV could capitalize on the fact that more and more customers are searching for vehicles with a more significant road presence. In contrast, the EQE SUV is slightly smaller than its sedan equivalent. It features a 3,030 mm wheelbase, a 4,863 mm length, a 1,940 mm width, and a 1,686 mm height.
Mercedes EQE electric SUV Specification
The EQE SUV is built on the same all-electric Mercedes platform as the EQS and EQE sedans. This type is supposed to be a competent vehicle to drive and to offer its occupants a great deal of comfort and elegance.
The 90.6 kWh battery pack offers the Mercedes EQE SUV a range of approximately 600 kilometers per charge. There are two distinct types. A single rear-mounted electric motor generates the electric vehicle’s 288 horsepower and 565 Nm of torque. However, if you opt for the EQE 350 4Matic, the two engines increase the torque to 765 Nm. But the range decreases to approximately 560 kilometers. However, an even more potent variant is known as the EQE 500 4Matic. It boasts a maximum output of 396 horsepower and excellent torque of 858 Newton meters. Its best claim is that it can travel around 550 kilometers.
In just 15 minutes, a 170 kWh charger can give the Mercedes EQE SUV a range of 220 kilometers. In the areas where the EQE SUV will be introduced first, Mercedes will also provide a 10-year/250,000-kilometer battery warranty.
