Mahindra is preparing to debut an electric scooter that will compete with the most popular products in its segment. Mahindra is set to offer the Peugeot Kisbee, a global product from the Peugeot portfolio. In India, both ICE-powered and electric-powered Kisbee scooters have been observed, which is quite unusual. Mahindra might utilise a jointly designed electric powertrain to serve the expanding Indian EV two-wheeler market. Mahindra e-scooter created with Peugeot spotted testing with Ather 450X.

Mahindra could launch an electric version of the Peugeot Kisbee in India to compete with the Ather 450X and Bounce Infinity E1 premium electric scooters. The next Mahindra e-scooter has been observed testing again, this time with an Ather 450X electric scooter. In the past, the Mahindra-Peugeot e-scooter was spotted undergoing ICE-powered and electric testing in the country.
The Peugeot Kisbee is a 50cc ICE-powered scooter sold abroad. At approximately 7,000rpm, the scooter generates 3.35hp of peak power and 3.2Nm of peak torque. The market for 50cc scooters in India is insignificant, and the corporation is unlikely to enter the market. Mahindra’s most viable alternative is expected to be an electrified two-wheeler product, which has had robust growth in recent years.
Peugeot sells the E-Ludix electric scooter with a 1.6 kWh 48V lithium-ion detachable battery pack for international markets. The E-Ludix has a range of 42 kilometres and a top speed of 45 km/h. Mahindra might retune it for improved performance and install a larger battery to support the enhanced performance. In addition, a larger battery would increase the riding range.
Other technical specs, launch date information, and pricing are currently unclear. However, the new Mahindra-Peugeot e-scooter should be priced competitively.
