Volvo Cars India has confirmed that it will bring the C40 Recharge to the country sometime next year. This is part of its plans to make more electric cars. The C40 is the coupe version of the newly released XC40 Recharge. It is also the only model in the carmaker’s lineup that was made to be pure electric.
The low, sloping roofline of the C40 Recharge is one of its best features. Also, the back of the electric SUV has been changed. It now has a spoiler on the trunk lid and the familiar vertical tail lights that go into the trunk. The C40 also has LED headlights with T-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs), sportier bumpers, a two-tone paint job, and five-spoke alloy wheels. Highlight Features
Volvo decided not to use leather on the inside and instead used blue carpets and door pad trims. The touchscreen infotainment system is stacked vertically and runs on Android. It doesn’t have Apple CarPlay. But it comes with Google Maps and Google Voice Assistant built-in, and it can get updates over the air. Other features include powered front seats, a digital instrument cluster, a Harman Kordon sound system, and ADAS features like a 360-degree camera, a blind-spot monitor, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert assist.

Like the XC40 Recharge, the C40 continues to use the 78kWh battery pack that powers the two electric motors, one on each axle. The motors have 660Nm of torque and 400bhp of power between them. A single engine with 230bhp and 330Nm of peak torque is also sold internationally. The C40 can be charged quickly up to 80% in about 40 minutes, and its electric range is said to be 420km.
We think the C40 Recharge will be shipped to India as CKD and put together at Volvo’s plant in Bangalore. The Volvo C40 Recharge will cost a little bit more than the XC40 Recharge, which costs Rs 55.90 lakh right now (ex-showroom).
