The current generation of the Hyundai Kona Electric is based on a general architecture that is also used for the ICE-powered version and is sold in markets around the world. Hyundai Kona EV launch, price
The next generation Hyundai Kona seen being tested. But it completely covered up, so it’s hard to tell much about how it will look on the outside. Outside of Hyundai-technical Kia’s centre in Germany, the test mules were seen going through their paces. The electric Hyundai Kona that was seen looked a lot like its ICE-powered siblings. That had already been caught on camera. The car is expected to go on sale all over the world in 2024. But there is no news about when Kona Electric will come out in India.
The current generation of the Hyundai Kona EV comes in a single-tone colour and a two-tone colour. Prices of Rs 23.8 lakh and Rs 24 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom Delhi).
But if you looked more closely, you’d notice small differences that are unique to the electric model. The front of the car will have a hole, likely for the charging port, just like the current model. The front fascia doesn’t seem to have any openings, which is typical of electric cars since there’s no engine up front that needs to be cooled. Small ducts might be there, though, to help cool the brakes and other moving parts.

Features (expected)
The Hyundai Kona Electric will look like other cars made by the Korean company right now. It’s expected to have a lot of small design details and bold design choices. The front lights could have a light bar and a main headlamp unit that looks like the Stargazer MPV and is mounted on the bumper.
As in the Kia Niro EV SUV, the hardware could include a 200-bhp motor and a 65kWh battery pack. The best versions of the Kona Electric will have a range of 400 km or more. Hyundai could also put smaller battery packs in models with less power.
